Pet Memberships

We now have Pet Memberships in For Pets’ Sake Humane Society available for all of your furry (and feathery and slithery, etc.) friends.  They are $25.00 a pet and if you send us a photo and description/story about your pet, we will post it here on our Pet Memberships page.

If you want your pet to become a member and supporter of For Pets’ Sake Humane Society, just click here to open the membership form, print it, fill it out and then send it along with the membership fee of $25.00 per pet to:  For Pets’ Sake Humane Society, P.O. Box 1705, Cortez, CO 81321.

And of course we want to see photos of all of our pet members and hear their stories.  For digital photos, please email them along with your pet’s description/story to our webmaster at: info@forpetssakehs.org.  Printed photos and descriptions/stories can be mailed to For Pets’ Sake along with the pet membership application.  Be sure that the photos and descriptions/stories have you pet’s name and your name on them.  The photos will be posted from the date of receipt until July 30th, one month after our membership year ends on June 30th.

Jordi used to be just a puppy producer. After three litters by age two, she decided not to feed puppies anymore. She was no longer wanted and I bought her a year and a half ago. She was three years old and had never been inside, most of her childhood was in a crate so she didn't know how to play. Her only goal in life now is to please. We took up doggie agility and she loves it! She won a blue ribbon in her very first trial in the novice class. Her mommy, Lorri Morgan, is so proud and loves her so much.

Chancellor is our handsome German Shepherd from the Czech Republic. His relatives live with the guards and do search and rescue work. He is a highly intelligent and sensitive dog who enjoys ranch work and looking after us. Chancellor is a great supporter of For Pets' Sake and dedicates his entire allowance to helping out less fortunate dogs and cats in FPS care. Pati and David Temple are his companions.

Winston is our "free" dog. He was rescued and given to us by his aunt and uncle, Nancy & Chris Schaufele from where he was panhandling at the Kayenta Burger King. He had very attractive, though ultra-straight back legs that soon required new titanium hips. Now he is a rock climbing and fast running athlete with a naughty tendancy, likely due to his houndish ancestry. Winston is a character indeed, that prefers to wear purple, insists on lounging on the furniture and consumes his meals as if they might be his last. We wouldn't trade this wonderful dog for anything. He makes us laugh each and every day! Pati and David Temple are his companions.

Baxter and Teddy are both rescue dogs. Baxter (part Pit Bull, part Boxer) is from Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT. He wandered the streets of Kanab for the first year of his life before being taken in by the shelter.

He wandered the streets of Kanab for the first year of his life before being taken in by the shelter. Teddy (part Viszla, part Lab) spent his first 9 months in the wonderful care of several For Pets' Sake foster homes. When these boys aren't chasing balls, napping in the sun, or sniffing around for deer and rabbit poo snacks, they keep busy trying to train their human roommates, Ann and Pete, to live more of a dog's life.
